How to Maintain Eye Contact While Reading a Script
"I always look like I'm reading something!" — This is the #1 complaint from new creators.
If your eyes are scanning text at the bottom of the screen, your audience feels disconnected.
Here is how to fix it in 30 seconds.
1
Enable Camera Mode
Don't use another camera app. Open Teleprompter Pro and tap the 'Video' mode icon. This overlays your script on top of the camera viewfinder.
2
The "Lens Hug" Technique
This is the secret. Go to Settings > Margin. Move the text area so it is hugging the camera lens (usually at the top or side of your phone).
If the text is too far from the lens, your eyes will drift.
3
Lock Your Font Size
Keep the font size small enough so you don't have to scan left-to-right, but large enough to read without squinting.
